Congratulations to Torchy's Tacos for recently being named #2 taco in the COUNTRY by Business Insider (read the article here). Torchy’s, which started as an Austin food truck in 2006, now has more than 30 locations in Texas. That is what we call, hustle and strive.
Torchy’s business model features at-the-counter ordering with amazing menu items like The Baja Shrimp (shrimp, cabbage slaw, pickled onions and jalapenos, cotija, cilantro, lime, and chipotle sauce) and breakfast options like The Wrangler (scrambled eggs and potatoes topped with smoked beef brisket and jack cheese). There mouth watering menu is embraced and loved dearly by Austin locals. Are you a drinker? Ask about their infusions and cocktails.
Now from a real estate perspective, they are doing equally impressive things. For every location they open, they acquire a prime piece of real estate. I personally look forward to their new location and flagship store on Congress. The new building "will feature a dining room, full bar and sidewalk seating" and offer guests a nice area for people watching.
As they develop more and more properties the business will not only be paying the property off but dramatically increasing the property value. Ronald McDonald once said "Everyone thinks I'm in the burger business but the truth is, I am in the real estate business". Now McDonald's owns some of the most valueble real estate in the world. Talk about some serious cash flow.
